Discounts

The holidays are quickly approaching and stores are starting to get busy. Working at the liquor store we are about to start our busiest time of year. And the question I am posting is should we offer more discounts during the time of year we are the busiest? We always do discounts when customers buy cases for wine and liquor. But should we offer them during the holidays for people who do not buy as much during the time of year when we sell the most?

  1. The holiday season is clearly a prime time to offer promotions. When increases in sales are almost guaranteed, you are not faced with as much risk when lowering prices. I think that there should be promotions on popular holiday alcoholic drinks. I have noticed that liquor stores do not tend to offer as many promotions. Are there laws that restrict selling alcohol at certain discounted prices?

  2. That is a great question. It is like saying here we know you are going to buy this but take some extra off that price. I understand like a loyal customer discount but those kind of marketing ploys need to be used during the not so busy seasons when the businesses are not having as many customers....

  3. I think companies should offer discounts. This goes back to customer satisfaction I think that customers that think they are getting good deals will come back to your store. Even of these companies aren't making as much money during the holiday season if they feel they are being treated right they will come back to your store not during the holidays.

  4. I believe that your business should offer discounts. I'm sure people would buy more liquor if this was put into effect. If I am having a holiday party I need to have the drinks. Which would lead to me buying more than I usually would. Now with a discount I would naturally buy more bottles. This was a good question and strategically thinking I would have discounts available.
